Guidance, Estimated Costs for an Audit (Effective from 1st January 2021)

 

  • Audit Days: 1 Auditor at £997.00 per day per Auditor for three days.
  • Travel Days: 1 Auditor at £997.00 per day for total amount of travel time. (Generally, 2 days, but for Asia and Australasia it could be more than 2 days)
  • Pre-audit check of documents and post-audit reporting, half day each by one auditor, totalling 1 days at £997.00 per day for Ballast Control Operator course
  • Inclusive of 15% Management Fees charges.
  • Travel costs, (taxi/train/flights etc.)
  • Hotel costs (and meals as required).
  • Others, as required.

 

Example:

 

For a centre in Europe looking for a first-time accreditation of the Ballast Control Operator Course, the following typical expenses may be accrued. (Travel days may differ based on location of centre).

 

Pre-Audit check: ½ day x 1 auditor

 

Post-audit Reporting: ½ day x 1 auditor

 

Actual audit time: 3 days x 1 auditor

 

Travel days (Two way): assume 2 days x 1 auditor= 2 days (additional days for the Far East or America region)

 

Total days for one auditor 6 days x £ 997 = £5,982.00

 

Total £5982.00 plus Additional Costs such as airfares, hotel, transportation, meals, visa costs etc

 

 

Settlement of Invoices

 

All payments to be made to The Nautical Institute under this Agreement shall be made in cleared funds, without any deduction or set-off and free and clear of and without deduction for or on account of any taxes, levies, imports, duties, charges, fees and withholdings of any nature now or hereafter imposed by any governmental, fiscal or other authority save as required by law. If the training provider is compelled to make any such deduction, it will pay to The Nautical Institute such additional amounts as are necessary to ensure receipt by The Nautical Institute of the full amount which it would have received but for the deduction.
